WILDEBEEST is a creative production company connecting space between films and ads.
We make compelling films—commercial, branded and narrative—that amplify untold stories from often unheard perspectives.
Wildebeest has an active slate of scripted and unscripted projects, recently premiering projects at Tribeca, Sundance, Berlinale and MIFF.
Who We Are
Who We Are
Jarred grew up in Melbourne and now resides on the Mornington Peninsula with his partner and two young daughters – splitting his time between family, time in the water, and directing. Inspired by seeing magic in the everyday and bringing relatability to the work he creates.
He founded Wildebeest in 2015, and has for 10 years been deeply invested in building it into what it is today.
He believes film has the capacity to evoke powerful emotions, inspire social movements, or a long overdue phone call to mum. It can make people trust in love, quit their jobs or simply hit pause and take a moment to slow down – it’s why he directs.
Jarred has an instinct for honest, authentic storytelling, focussing on representing a true form of the world around us.
Josie is an experienced creative producer with over 12 years in Melbourne’s film production industry. She is deeply passionate about telling untold stories and working with diverse voices to bring these narratives to life.
Since 2019, Josie has served as the Executive Producer at Wildebeest, where she oversees all projects—both commercial and creative—ensuring that projects are brought to life on time and on budget.
Throughout her career, Josie has been fortunate to produce award-winning short films and music videos. Notably, short film ‘Hafekasi’, premiered at Tribeca, where it received the special jury mention for Best Short Film. Its success continued with screenings and accolades at prestigious festivals such as BFI London, Palm Springs, and MIFF. Her two most recent short films – ‘Stranger, Brother’ and ‘Howl’ premiered at Sundance and Berlinale respectively in 2025. They’re currently on the short film circuit.
Her work has taken her around the globe, including Executive Producer projects in Chile, China, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, as well as production roles in Thailand and Vietnam. Josie’s dedication to authentic storytelling and her commitment to diversity have established her as a respected figure in Melbourne’s film community.
Jes started her career here at Wildebeest in production management and quickly excelled, launching herself into producing. Her gentle and kind nature clearly translates into her work as a considerate and caring team member, and prides herself on creating positive, encouraging, teamwork-focussed crews.
This smiling assassin proudly brings up the rear as the youngest team member at Wildebeest, offering fresh and contemporary views grounded in reality.
Being of Tongan and Irish heritage, Annelise has always been drawn to stories about place, identity and community. She has an incredible instinct for understanding people and an ability to connect with talent of all ages that results in pieces that are honest, compelling and beautiful. Annelise is heavily influenced by art and cinema that is daring and has something meaningful to say.
She hopes her visual storytelling speaks to younger generations and they see themselves reflected in the Australian media landscape.
